About Our Celebration

At long last, the masks of last summer are coming off, and we want to smile with you, your friends, your family and the rest of Colorado during our Colorado Grand Opening!

The Colorado Grand Opening, hosted at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum, will feature 2-3 exciting events every week, including athlete meet-and-greets, sport demos, live entertainment and more! Activities run July through Labor Day (Sept. 6) and nearly all will be available to the public. The star of the CGO will be the Tokyo Games Fan Fest, a four-day Olympic festival from July 29 through Aug. 1 where you can cheer on Team USA with a 50-foot screen, a wide selection of food and beverages, and special Olympic and Paralympic guests.

Spend your summer the Olympic & Paralympic way with the USOPM, because when you visit, you never know what you might see, what you might do, or who you might meet!

USOPM 2021 Tokyo Games Fan Fest


July 29 – August 1

The USOPM Tokyo Games Fan Fest will be one of the Museum’s featured events during the Colorado Grand Opening. The USOPM’s Fan Fest will be held on the Museum Plaza with activities on S. Sierra Madre Street and Vermijo Street.

The free, four-day celebration will be filled with live entertainment, a wide selection of food and beverages, athlete-led sport demonstrations, a 50-foot viewing screen airing the Tokyo Games, and more.

Guard Jerry Shipp and forward Bill Bradley led the way as the U.S. Men’s Basketball Team won its sixth consecutive Olympic gold medal.
