COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Today marks 100 days until the start of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, and here in Olympic City USA, Team USA fans can experience the excitement. The celebration kicks off on Saturday, July 27, with the Downtown Summer Fest hosted by the United States Olympic & Paralympic Museum and the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation.
The Downtown Summer Fest is free to the public and will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Museum, open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., will require a ticket for entry.
During the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Museum will continue the festivities as part of the USOPM’s Paris Summer Fest Celebration. Every day throughout the Games, the Museum will feature daily programming, including athlete meet and greets, artifact demonstrations and more.
The Downtown Summer Fest kickoff celebration on July 27 will have an array of activities, including:
- The Official Torch Relay presented by Olympic City USA: To kick off the event, Olympians, Paralympians, and community dignitaries will carry a torch across the Park Union Bridge and light the cauldron, starting at 11 a.m.
- Athlete meet & greets: Team USA athlete meet and greets with autograph signings and the opportunity to meet Olympic Champion Dominique Dawes, member of the 1996 Magnificent Seven Gymnastics Team.
- Live Paris Games coverage: A giant outdoor screen will have live coverage of the Paris Games playing for fans to cheer on Team USA.
- Live Music: Enjoy live music throughout the day by talented local musicians.
- Community vendors: Explore a variety of vendors offering everything from delicious food and refreshing beverages to unique arts and crafts.
- Sport demonstrations: Witness the fast-paced action of Team Handball with a thrilling demonstration on the plaza and experience the grace and precision of fencing with an exciting demonstration by USA Fencing athletes, along with other informational booths.
- USA Basketball clinic: Basketball enthusiasts (ages 6-17) can improve their skills and learn from the best at the USA Basketball clinic. Register HERE.
- Aerial pura performance: Prepare to be mesmerized by breathtaking aerial performances that will leave you in awe.
- On the Break Dance Academy performance: Enjoy the dynamic moves and impressive choreography of the On the Break Dance Academy performers.

Before the event, the second annual Rocky Mountain 5K at America the Beautiful Park will start at 9 a.m., in partnership with the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region, as part of the Rocky Mountain State Games. The evening will conclude with the Colorado Springs Chamber and EDC’s “An Evening In Paris Gala” from 6:30-11 p.m. The gala celebrates the business community’s successes and registration is now open.
