Board unanimously approved a five-year contract extension for CEO Marisa Wigglesworth
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The United States Olympic & Paralympic Museum’s Board of Directors has unanimously approved a five-year contract extension for CEO Marisa Wigglesworth, extending her tenure through 2031 as the Museum continues advancing its long-term strategic vision and preparing for the opportunities ahead of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Since joining the Museum in July 2023, Wigglesworth has worked alongside the Board and staff to define and advance organizational priorities, strengthen operations and build a strong foundation for the Museum’s future. With the support of the Board and benefactors, she is advancing the Museum’s next phase of growth — expanding its reach, strengthening its impact and ensuring that the stories and values of America’s greatest athletes inspire people across the country, not just during the Games, but every day.
“Marisa has proven herself to be an exceptional leader with a clear vision for the Museum,” said Mark Ackermann, chair of the Museum’s Board of Directors. “She has built meaningful relationships across our community and throughout the Olympic and Paralympic Movement, strengthened the organization and helped position the Museum for continued growth and impact. As we look toward LA 2028 and beyond, the Board is confident in Marisa’s ability to lead the Museum through its next chapter.”
Under Wigglesworth’s leadership, the Museum has strengthened its role as a destination where visitors and fans can connect with the stories, values and achievements of Team USA.
“I am deeply grateful to the members of the Board for their confidence and support,” said Wigglesworth. “It is an honor to lead an institution with such an important mission. Our team is committed to preserving and sharing the stories that define the Olympic and Paralympic Movement, creating meaningful experiences for our guests and ensuring the Museum continues to inspire future generations through the power of sport. I look forward to building on our momentum and working alongside our Board, staff, athletes and supporters as we continue shaping the Museum’s future together.”
