The city of Atlanta was the proud host of the Centennial Summer Olympic Games, marking a monumental occasion in its history. Local officials leveraged the event’s global exposure to enhance Atlanta’s reputation as a cosmopolitan hub.
The 1996 Atlanta Games were notable for unforgettable performances, ranging from standout athletes such as Michael Johnson and Carl Lewis to iconic teams like the Magnificent Seven gymnastics squad, offering many memorable moments.
Two parking options are available at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum: the parking lot across the street from the Museum, which costs $7.50 per day until 4 p.m., or metered parking along S. Sierra Madre and Vermijo.
